Writing braille with a slate and stylus
One of the simplest ways to write a quick note or label in braille is to use a slate and stylus, as demonstrated in the video, by Elise Tabor, an assistive technology (AT) instructor. The slate and stylus is portable and can be used on many surfaces, like a sheet of plastic, index card, paper folders, and more. It makes a great labeling tool.
A slate and stylus may be purchased from a variety of sources, including LS&S Products. For more information on creating braille, check out the Producing Braille Series at Hadley.
