How Do I Read That?

Steve Kelley, CVRT a vision rehab therapist at the Iris Network recently presented How Do I Read That, at the Northeast Chapter of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (NEAER) professional conference, in Newport, RI, on November 15, 2012. This one hour presentation provided an overview of the different types of e-raeders available—software, web-based, and hardware devices, that might be most useful to consumers who are blind or visually impaired.

 

This presentation also included several resources to assist professionals in making appropriate assessments for their client’s based on functional abilities, preferred reading material, book formats, and additional considerations such as screen size, weight of device, note-taking ability, etc.
